Marmaray Logistics strives to minimize the negative impact of its transportation activities on the environment and carries out all transportation operations with the least possible damage to the environment.
In 2018, Marmaray Logistics saved fuel and prevented the destruction of a forest of approximately 2,000 trees by reducing carbon dioxide emissions. It renewed its entire vehicle fleet for compulsory road transportation with Euro/5 and Euro/6 vehicles in accordance with the EU's CO2 emission standards. All vehicles in the fleet are regularly subjected to sound and exhaust tests and controlled by authorized representatives of the manufacturer. The materials used in the interior and exterior cleaning of the vehicles are environmentally friendly.
Green logistics aims to reduce the amount of waste generated in operations.
Key Features of Green Logistics
Green logistics is an approach that aims to increase the efficiency of logistics and procurement processes while minimizing environmental impacts. This method provides both economic and environmental benefits by integrating sustainability principles directly into business operations.
Low Carbon Emissions
It aims to reduce carbon emissions by optimizing transport modes, fuel types and operational processes. Using more efficient vehicles and choosing alternative fuels are part of this strategy.
Energy Efficiency
Reducing energy consumption is an important component of green logistics. This includes more efficient storage and distribution techniques and more effective use of energy in logistics centers.
